THE BRIEF

When Stephanie and James moved into Shurlock Row, they found a home full of promise and untapped potential – but with a layout that felt disconnected and dark. The flow between spaces didn’t quite work and natural light was lost in key areas, leaving the house feeling heavier than it should.

The space was ready to be transformed into something brighter, softer and more intuitive. With a clear vision in mind, Stephanie explained, “We wanted our home to be comfortable, cosy and welcoming. A family home full of love and joy.” Guided by that sentiment, we approached the redesign with warmth – opening up the layout, enhancing the light and layering in gentle, personal details that reflected their way of living.

HOVER & SEE THE CHANGE

THE DETAILS

We began by rethinking how the spaces connected. Some small but smart layout changes transformed the way the house feels day to day. We widened sightlines, improved door positions and introduced lighter finishes that helped carry daylight through.

A muted, earthy palette with warm undertones brought cohesion and calm, while layers of texture – oak flooring, linen curtains, and brushed brass fittings – added depth and comfort. Bespoke Joinery and soft lighting created definition and balance.  Our approach focused on creating gentle transitions between rooms, making the home feel more open yet still intimate and grounded.

LOOKING UP

We raised the ceiling for a truly luxurious feel  using panelling to lead the eye upwards.

THE SHOWSTOPPER

From the outset, we envisioned the kitchen to be the true heart of the home – a space that brings the family together throughout the day. What was once dark and dated has been completely reimagined into a characterful hub that connects seamlessly to the adjoining utility, pantry and boot room. Every detail was carefully considered. From the moment you walk in and catch sight of the built-in units at the far end of the snug, the soft blue finish gently pulls your eye through the space. Deep green cabinetry sits alongside brass accents, adding depth and warmth through layers of texture. Practical enough for busy family life, yet refined enough to make a statement.

DESIGNED
FOR REAL LIFE

After a muddy walk with the dogs, James wanted to step inside and instantly feel warm and at home. Rich earthy tones make this boot room as welcoming as the rest of the house.

THE RESULT

The transformed family home is now complete. A lighter, more spacious and far more personal version to see Stephanie and James through the next chapter of their life. The result is calm, comfortable and brimming with personality. Every element has been thoughtfully designed to enhance family life, creating spaces that feel both functional and beautifully considered. It’s relaxed, happy and exactly the family home they always hoped for.
